To safely transport students to and from schools within the Trust to enable them to access appropriate curriculum provision.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation: Driving assigned routes to transport students or staff to school, events, or field trips.
Safety & Compliance: Performing daily pre-and post-journey vehicle checks, ensuring the vehicle is fueled, and adhering to Child Protection/Safeguarding policies.
Maintenance: Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy inside and out.
Passenger Management: Managing student behavior on the bus, ensuring seat belts are worn and rules are followed.
Reporting: Reporting accidents, breakdowns, or behavior issues to management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Licence: Full valid driving licence (Category D1 entitlement may be required for certain vehicles, or a standard Category B licence if the driver passed before 1997 or is driving a lighter minibus).
Experience: Proven experience in a similar driving role is preferred.
Compliance: Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Skills: Strong communication skills, punctuality, and patience.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and safety.
